Canon EOS R Camera Cage - Professional Aluminum Alloy Rig with Cold Shoe Mount for DSLR Video Shooting | Perfect for Vlogging, Filmmaking & Photography Accessories

I use this cage daily at my corporate video job.It’s a great cage with lots of mounting options.Two concerns I’ve found:1) it has to be lined up perfectly when you install the camera inside, or the battery door won’t open all the way (or at all) - but can’t really dock a star for that because if you install it correctly it’s not an issue.2) you have to reach under the cage somewhat to press the record button on top of the camera. That’s a P.I.T.A. as this is primarily made for video usage - despite reading that it’s great for stills photography also, it’s unwieldy when shooting stills and I have very large hands so it’s not for lack of grip. That may be part of the problem too though, my fat fingers just may not slide under the cage as easily as the designers thought. Or because canon put the record video so high on top of the body. Who knows. YmmvNot sure this was one time off, I ended up applying great force to screw in the Arri hole which resulted in few scratches, was in rush and its not that expensive so ended up keeping itPerfect cage at perfect prize , i love itThis cage that gets the job done, but it makes pushing the record button a hassle.Was meant to be a run and gun camera cage but the cage ended up being incompatible with all my smallrig plates and mounts. All the bolt holes were the wrong size and in the wrong places.The overall design is a little flimsy and not very confidence inspiring. The bottom of the cage interferes with the battery door. The grip present is also poor as the camera was free to rotate in the cage regardless of how tight the bolt was.In addition there are limited options for base plate mounting and cable routing.Overall less than a third of the benefits for half the price of other cages. Don’t recommend.
