Measure your foot and check on the website.I wear a 7-7.5 womens, so I got the size I figured would fit me best. The shoe was 2 sizes too big. Thankfully, birk boxes have a place to measure your foot. I ended up needed 2 sizes smaller. Apparently, it’s equivalent to a women’s 5. I know for a fact that I can’t fit other shoes that are that small.I still haven’t received my refund from the seller yet, so I’m not sure I would recommend buying from them. You’re better off ordering from the Birkenstock website.This is my fifth pair of Birks and they are wonderful as usual. This is the first pair that I have ordered that have the ankle strap. The ankle strap is a bit looser than I expected but still pleasant to wear. It shouldn't be soo tight that it digs in or gives blisters so it makes sense that there's some movement. They definitely have the gladiator look but in a nice way; not too over the top. The habana is lighter than I expected, almost the same hue as the corkbed. Also the habana shows any wear and tear immediately, so if you want perfect looking shoes all the time pick a different color. But I think the worn look is supposed to be part of the charm. I'm really happy that I ordered from Schuh GRESS. It did take a while to arrive (I'm on the other side of the globe in Hawaii though), but I'm impressed with the quality of the product and they still arrived BEFORE the delivery window. Plus, the straps are real leather as opposed to leather synthetics that are showing up on so many Birks in the same style for less. In the end excellent customer service and an excellent product. I will absolutely order from this vendor again.These sandals are amazing! I get compliments all the time. They are comfortable and go with just about any outfit! I like their unique style with the straps in comparison to the classic slip ons. They were a bit large for me not in the footbed (size 37) but in the ankle strap because I am a petite person and I have small ankles. The sandals are still wearable for me but were more comfortable with the easy fix of adding an extra hole in the straps. I say if you are indecisive, make the investment because they are timeless & durable. I will say that I do take good care of them and would not wear them to the beach or somewhere where the cork could be damaged these are best for walking and everyday but not any events where water could be encountered.I was worried about the time of shipping, but surprisingly they arrived a few days before the nearest arrival date posted!I absolutely love birks. They are good for you spine health, etc. Once you wear them you'll never go back to anything else! These fit super comfy too, btw. I typically wear a 7 1/2, and ordered a 38.ADD ON:Okay so as I was putting them on, the inside ankle strap partially came off, it was only hanging on by the corner. To fix it, I just super glued it, since I live in California I would dread having to wait another two months to do a return and get a new pair, etc. Hopefully they won't give me any other problems.I loved it purchased it as and early birthday gift for myselfFast delivery, fair price, fit perfect and good qualityOrdered these in narrow width because I have narrow feet. I highly recommend going to your closet Birkenstock carrier to try these on because they run a size large. I am not really a fan of the typical Birkenstock style, but when I saw these, I had to have them. I was skeptical of ordering online due to past bad experiences with other shoe brands.They're more stylish in my opinion, and I will most likely wear these everywhere. The shipping after ordering was disappointing at first due to it saying it will arrive in a month or two. It was irritating that I spent $14 on shipping and I still have to wait that long. BUT, in the end they ended up coming a week before the first expected date of delivery. I am very pleased with my online purchase of these shoes.I ordered these for an upcoming trip to the Czech Republic and was a little nervous the wouldn't arrive on time since the 'estimated' shipping dates spanned May 12th to June 11th (ordered in late April). Never fear- they arrived a mere 8 days later and I couldn't be happier.The reviews are correct to recommend sizing down as my other Berks are a 38 and I ordered a 37 in this style (which fit perfectly). I have a long, narrow foot however, so keep that in mind.I would have given them five stars but the leather is quite stiff and I'm waiting until my trip for the final verdict. All in all, a great buy!I love these sandals! I can now happily say I wore them all around London this weekend and walked over 5 miles with no blisters or sore feet!I did have to return my first pair due to them being a size too large. I normally wear 7, which in Birkenstock size are meant to be a 40. They had almost an inch of extra space in the back, and the ankle straps were consequently too short due to where my foot was sitting in the sandal bed.When I went to order a size 6, I couldn't find them anywhere; I could only find 5.5. Unbeknownst to me, the next size down in Birk sizes (39) equates to 5.5. When I figured it out, I ordered the 5.5 and they fit beautifully! The ankle straps went from being on the final notch (when I had a size too large) to tightening to the first notch when I had the correct size. Because of this the extra bit of strap sticks out a little, but I dont mind. My feet are slightly wide, so the regular fit was perfect for me (sometimes Birkenstock offers narrow fit).I cant wait to use these as my travel sandals!Well having read the reviews I did actually take on board the advice to go a half size lower ... so I did (normally a size 5 ) ordered a 4.5 and they really are a great fit- my toes fit in all the right places.My next concern was reviews saying that the strap is too small for the ankle.... i didn’t think I had particularly small ankles but the strap is on the last hole - if they stretch I’ll have to have a hole put in as I can’t get them any tighter- the buckle sits almost at the front of my foot (but that’s exactly how I wanted them to look.... so all good)The strap across the toes is also adjusted to its tightest and fits without squashing my feet.The straps are backed with something soft and a bit ‘furry’ so they feel really nice on your skin and the foot bed is really soft.I’ve had a few pairs of Birkies but I think these will be my favourite pair- really nice that they are leather and not man made and I think they will look better as they get older... all in all a very good purchase and help from reliable reviews! (Oh.... and not forgetting the best price I could find anywhere for these on the internet)I bought these sandals as recommended for my fallen arches. I was expecting them to be uncomfortable to begin with as I have orthotic insoles with the same footbed shaping in my walking shoes. However, the problem is with the strapping. I thought it would look good but in fact the ankle straps make walking in these very awkward as my heels are lifted from the sandals. I should have stuck with straightforward toepost shoes, but I will try to persevere and hopefully get used to them next summer.Absolutely brilliant item. And so so comfortable. Not sure how long they will last but worn throughout summer and still looking good. I suffer from a foot problem. Have spent a fortune on lots of different expensive footwear and bought every type of insole. Nothing, other than expensive birkinstocks, has helped with my foot problem untill I found these. Absolutely Love them.This is the best summer purchase that I've made. I wear them all the time and they feel so comfy. It was the first time I use this brand and I ordered a bigger size but still comfortable. Next time I know that I need to order smaller size. I like the design too. I tend to get blisters from all the shoes I get and with these, I got none. I recommend them to everyone
